Introduction

Well, summer has flown by, and it was one of the most beautiful I can remember. Many kids are back to school, the UCSB Soccer Season has begun, the weather for riding and exercising outside is a bit warm at times, but sooo pretty.

Of course one of the reasons we live in Santa Barbara is that the upcoming months of Sept. and Oct., are usually amazing weather!  We are spoiled and very fortunate to be here.

And I know each and every one of you will use this special time of the year to spend more time outdoors doing many fun things to promote your health, well-being and cheering for the Gauchos Mens Soccer team.  Keep it Up!

Heads Up, We are Closed for Labor Day

We will be Closed on Monday, Sept.3rd, however I will be In the Office All Day, Tuesday, Sept. 4th.

Your Wellness (Bare) Essential Supplements

I continually look at new research and integrate it into my comprehensive wellness practice.  The knowledge accumulated from reading about health and wellness for 37 years, combined with 28 years of nutritional work with patients and observing their results, has lead to my current conclusion that the following supplements are the most important products for creating a foundation for a lifetime of wellness.

Omega 369

Our current diet is greatly deficient in high quality Omega 3's, especially those rich in EPA and DHA.  A balance of healthy Omegas is critical to many key areas of our health, including our Brain, Cardio-Vascular, and Immune Systems.

This nutrient group is quite possibly the most important addition for the overall population.  It greatly reduces the risk of heart attack and brain degeneration, while promoting and protecting cognitive function and emotional health.  Omegas have also shown a significant impact on reducing the risk of certain cancers.

Omega 369 is the best absorbed, and tastiest, form of these healthy Omegas. It is highly purified and passes the strictest of screenings for problematic heavy metals, which can be found in lesser quality fish oils.

Max B ND
There is no way we can easily get the complete family of B Vitamins and Co-factors from our current food supply.  Max B ND is still the highest quality, thoroughly comprehensive, B vitamin complex that I have found.  Every aspect of our health is affected by numerous members of the B family, including but not limited to, Brain Function, Heart Health, Energy Levels, Nervous System Balance, Skin, Immune, Hair, and Liver Health and Detoxification.

It is no surprise that this is the number one selling product in the clinic, as patients often experience a greater sense of well-being, increased energy levels and improved brain function, within a matter of days after starting Max B ND.

Q. Coral Complex
Comprehensive, well-absorbed, high quality minerals are relatively hard to come by.  The coral I choose is famous for it's ability to alkalinize the body, it is rich in calcium and magnesium as well as a broad spectrum of other minerals and trace minerals. This is the specific form of coral that made coral famous, while many on the market are cheaper versions.  Minerals are critical to every cell of our body and every aspect of our health.

Anti-Oxidants
This is where I most commonly use Nano-Greens with most patients as a critical part of the wellness phase of their program.  However, the area of Antioxidants is very complex and there are more and more quality products available.  This makes the choice of which anti-oxidant product to choose for a patient a bit more complex.

A new product, which you will be hearing more about from me next month, that will compete with Nano-Greens in this arena is XenoProtX. This is a rich form of anti-oxidants that are combined in a capsule form and intended to improve the function of our liver.  It specifically increases our ability to process environmental toxins, as well as the chemical bi-products of hormones, which often cause many of the unwanted side effects.

For the majority, I would still recommend Nano-Greens, but for specific patients, especially those with hormonal cancer concerns, I would go with XenoProtX, or ideally a combination of the two.

The above, are The Big 4, The Bare Essentials. I can recommend these to every patient and every member of their family.  Of course there are many more products to choose from when maximizing ones health quotient and minimizing their disease risk.  This is where I custom design a program for most of my patients, taking into account their health goals, family history, personal history and how much they want to invest in their health.

These Bare Essentials are also highly recommended for your children. In fact, I can confidently say this is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your kids.  These products will support their brain function in school, and their energy and coordination for sports or any physical activity.  I personally take all of the above and much more as well as giving them to my "kids".

In all of the areas above, there are often different products that I will recommend for certain patients.  For instance, a new patented form of Omegas has just been released, which is the preferred form for patients with specific cardio-vascular cholesterol profiles (high LDL's, low HDL's and high Total Cholesterol), who also have a positive heart scan, or who just want to be very careful with their heart.  I won't recommend this product for everyone, as it is fairly expensive, however, for some it is certainly worth the cost.

Of course we are always looking at all other lifestyle factors that are critical for each individual, including sleep quality and quantity, exercise, stress reduction, and the ever present and very important dietary lifestyle.

Please be consistent with your Wellness Essentials and let me know if you have any questions about the above.

Be Prepared for Cold and Flu Season

The Cold and Flu Season began slowing ramping up last week, and with the kids going back to school, it will soon hit full force.

Last year many of my patients were prepared to jump into action at the first sign of an infection, and for those who did they usually stopped it in it's tracks! With more and more patients well trained, we had one of our easiest Cold and Flu Season's that I can remember.  The key to this kind of success is to Be Prepared!  That means having the products from Dr. Dale's Immune Protocols on hand to start taking at the first sign of an infection.  This is the most important step you can take to minimize the chances of any infection really setting you back.

Here is my Immune Protocol Refrigerator Page so it is easier to know what to do right away.  Please be sure to open the attachment, print it out and place it on your refrigerator.

Important Note: if you feel your immune system is not as strong as you would like it to be, please call for an appointment ASAP.  During your appointment I can specifically assess what you can do to strengthen your immune system, therefore increasing your resistance to the bugs that are coming our way.  We have some new products that are great for this situation.

Monthly Product Specials

To support you in being well prepared for the cold and flu season, I have the following special discounts: Receive a 10% discount on Large Im-Encap or Immune Balancing Complex plus a Q. Colostrum or IgG 2000.  Family Pack: Buy two of either of the above packages and get an additional 5% off. The above Specials are effective until Sept. 30th!  If you want to add Humacel, which we use for more demanding viruses, we will extend the savings to that also.  If you want to do the Infection Prevention Program listed on the Refrigerator Page, buying one or more of each, you will receive 10% off of that also.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Always bear in mind that our resolution to succeed is more important than any other.

In Closing

The greatest gifts that I receive from my patients come in 2 forms.  First, is the gift of seeing patients transform their habits, their health, their lives!  They come to me with a desire to be healthy once again, often with specific concerns.  I analyze the causes of their problems, they set their health goals, I give them the plan for their transformation and to be honest, a very large percent of patients follow through and achieve many if not all of their goals.  Ending up with a new lease on life. What a pleasure to support and observe all day long.

The other gift I receive regularly and greatly appreciate is patients referring friends, family and loved ones. It takes a bit of courage, or at least a commitment to the well being of others to take the step of saying, please go see Dr. Dale, you'll be glad you did.

So, thank you for these gifts! They makes it fun and fulfilling to go to work and even to sit at the computer, doing endless research and typing out newsletters for all of you.

Sign up using the form or call 805-687-0533 to make your appointment.
